This elegant off white mekhela sador with guna work is made from paat (mulberry silk) and woven with fine guna (zari) in the traditional Assamese motif. A mekhela sador is a two piece saree, the lower portion, called the mekhela is the skirt while the upper portion, a free piece that must be worn around the mekhela, thus resembling the saree after being worn.
The set comes with a matching blouse piece in offwhite with gunawork. (Not the blouse in picture)
