Luit festive is a smorgasbord of colours, yarns, textures and motifs that showcases the diverse textile craft of the Assamese women weavers.
Luit represents a river, the Brahmaputra as it is fondly called in Assam - and the people along its banks who express their art in myriad ways. 'Luit' or Lohit which means the red one and its magic has been woven into this exquisite collection, marked by intricate weaves, threads, yarns and gorgeous colors. We have primarily woven these in cotton, along with Eri, paat, tussar and Muga silk.
Each piece in this collection handcrafted by women in Assam's Kamrup, Jorhat and Chirang districts, in superior high count cotton, each saree taking from 6 to 45 days to weave. Our sarees fall into four broad categories - Chhaya, Gero, Bodo and a collection of silks
